The manager reports directly to the owner of the business and works collaboratively with other management staff. During their scheduled shift the manager is accountable for daily operations, client satisfaction, staff management, fiscal accountability and ensuring that all processes and systems are being followed.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

STAFF MANAGEMENT:
• Responsible for supervising staff, assigning staff duties for the shift and communicating clearly with the next scheduled shift
• Responsible for making sure staff follows rules and procedures, documenting performance of staff and any staff issues that require verbal or written warnings
• Responsible for assuring that all staff completes required training program(s) in allotted timeframes
• Responsible for working cooperatively as a group as well as individually

OPERATIONS:
• Oversee facility operations including boarding and daycare for your scheduled shifts
• Ensure that established customer service standards are, at a minimum, met and look for opportunities to exceed
• Responsible for ensuring the safety of dogs, staff and customers at all times
• Responsible for alerting the owner of all maintenance needs at the facility and the grounds
• Responsible for assuring that all medications are administered as required
• Responsible for prepping meals for pets
• Responsible for taking photographs and uploading to social media at least once per shift
• Responsible for first aid for pets as needed and identifying when a pet requires veterinary care (training provided)
• Responsible for taking reservation by phone and by email and accurately entering them into the electronic record
• Responsible for calling veterinary offices to verify vaccinations for pets
• Responsible for calling customers to verify or sometimes confirm details of their scheduled stay
• Responsible for helping staff clean and disinfect kennels, kennel bays, play yards, play rooms, lobby, breakroom, bathroom, cat room, etc.
• Responsible for pool maintenance in the summer

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Ability to make quality decisions on the fly, sometimes with only partial information
• Ability to manage independently with minimal direction from owner
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to crouch down and stand repeatedly while cleaning

You must be comfortable handling and working with dogs of all sizes and breeds. Oneka does not restrict size or breed. We do restrict on dog temperament if they are not a good fit for our environment.

Scheduled hours are:
• 2 days a week 6:30 am – 6:30 pm
• Other hours as needed to cover vacations and sick days.
